It is the responsibility of the Responsible Supplier to choose the relevant standard. However, if the standard chosen by the Responsible Supplier is found to be inappropriate or inadequate then the product will be deemed not suitable for continued sale. Deregistration of the Responsible Supplier and the Equipment may occur.

AS/NZS 4417.2 contains definitions for higher risk electrical equipment (Level 2 and 3) that will require registration and details the relevant standards that Level 2 and Level 3 type equipment are required to meet.
